Launching the general framework of the Syrian educational curriculum

Under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Education, Mr. Emad Mouafak Al Azeb, the workshop for launching the general framework of the Syrian educational curriculum and building modern curricula was held on August 26th-27th 2019, with the presence of H.E. Dr. Hamad bin Saif Al-Hammami / the Director of UNESCO Regional Office for Education in Beirut, with the accompanying delegation, experts who participated in curriculum evaluation, and those charged with publishing and implementing the general frame of the Syrian National Curriculum in all governorates.
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of the general frame of the national curriculum in the Syrian Arab Republic as a reference document for curricula and textbooks, in the light of a unified, shared and future educational vision; and to explore innovative ideas / strategies regarding the procedures which are necessary to translate the general frame of the Syrian national curriculum into daily educational practices, and to define a draft road map related to the strategies required for quality implementation of the general frame of the Syrian National Curriculum.
The workshop outcomes included setting a clear future vision for the mechanisms for disseminating the general frame of the national educational curriculum.
The most important suggestions and recommendations of this workshop are:
 Forming a central working team to train on the mechanisms for spreading the general frame of the Syrian national curriculum.
 Conducting training courses for educational supervisors, specialists and local teams from the directorates of education on spreading this frame in Syrian schools.
 Evaluating the training success and its impact on developing the educational process.
