With the aim of consulting, communicating and exchanging experiences related to higher education amid the circumstances of confronting the spread of Corona-virus, the Syrian Arab Republic, represented by:

• Dr Khalil Ajami / The Chairman of the Virtual University /.
participated in a virtual meeting between officials from The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and a higher education expert in UNESCO Regional Bureau in Beirut, Dr Anas Bouhlal, with the aim of consulting, communicating and exchanging experiences concerning higher education amid the circumstances of confronting the spread of Coronavirus on April 28th, 2020.
The meeting discussed the impact of the Corona pandemic on education suspension in the institutions of higher education and scientific research, and the unprecedented challenges facing governments to confirm the continuation of the distance education process, with the participation of researchers from the Arab world and Asia-Pacific.
The meeting included presentation made by the participants about the experiences of responding to the new challenges by the higher education institutions, the innovations in the field of E-learning, post-Corona pandemic plans ,as well as the plans of addressing inequality in education.
The expert emphasized that UNESCO Bureau is always ready to provide support and assistance to advance the education process in the institutions of The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Syria and Arab world.
