A Webinar about the Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Developing and Training Employees in Enterprises
Within the framework of UNESCO response to COVID-19 pandemic, The Ministry of Education in The Syrian Arab Republic, represented by:
- Eng. Zouka Ghandour (The Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education).
- Eng. Mohamed Abdel Hamid (The Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education).
- Rawiyah Al-Haswani (The National Commission for UNESCO)
Participated in the inter-agency webinar (The International Labor Organization, UNESCO and the World Bank Group), which was held on October 6th, 2020, in order to share and discuss the results of the global questionnaire about the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on training and developing the employees and trainees in institutions and other organizations.
This webinar aimed to facilitate learning from peers in the respect of how companies and organizations deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and share the state experiences/ the company and good practices, as well as to identify the recommendations common policy in order to help companies to enhance the practices of developing their skills, emphasizing on the results concluded by joint work team among the international organizations which participate in providing counsel about the policies, programs and researches of technical and vocational education TVET (IAG-TVET) according to the common global questionnaire concerning the skills of institutional response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The webinar brought together a number of the main concerned persons who were targeted by the questionnaire in order to comment on the results and share their own experiences
The most important points discussed during the main introductory presentation of this webinar are:
• The impact of COVID-19 pandemic on TVET.
• The continuation of vocational and technical education and training.
• The continuation of reforms and investments.
• Accelerating the distant-learning solutions and supporting student.
• Supporting the technical skills of teachers and trainers.
• Providing assistance to students who may expose to the risk of COVID-19.
• Continuing the coverage of workers' salaries and social protection for those affected with COVID-19.
